Willenhall, West Midlands: Poundland, Europe’s biggest single price discount retailer, was awarded the Discount Retailer of the Year at the 2011 Retail Industry Awards last night, held at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London.

Wales Carrier Bag Charging
As from 1 October 2011, Poundland has been required to charge a minimum of 5p for ‘single use carrier bags’ in retail stores in Wales. Poundland is also required to publish the amount of ‘single use carrier bags’ put into the market in Wales along with associated costs.
