Kitchen & Garden Herbs - Parsley Italian Giant

Parsley Italian Giant is a robust and flavorful herb that adds a fresh touch to various dishes. Known for its broad, flat leaves, this variety of parsley is particularly prized for its culinary versatility. It thrives in sunny gardens and can be grown quickly in pots, making it perfect for seasoned and beginners. With a vibrant green hue and a slightly peppery taste, Italian Giant parsley is ideal for enhancing salads, soups, sauces, and garnishes. Its generous leaf size means you can harvest plenty at once, perfect for cooking and plating. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it also provides a healthy meal boost.

Instructions For Use

Sow Indoors

Sow seeds 1cm deep, 7cm apart, into damp, good-quality compost pots. Keep the pot warm and sunny, and cover it with a plastic bag to speed up germination. Plants can be grown on a kitchen windowsill for fresh herbs at your fingertips all year round or transplanted outdoors when they are large enough to handle.

Hardening Off

Before moving plants outside, make sure the risk of frost has passed. To acclimatise, place the plants outdoors during the day and bring them indoors at night. Repeat this process for seven days, after which the plants can remain outdoors. This method is perfect for planting into patio containers.

Sow Outdoors

Once the risk of frost has passed, seeds can be sown directly where they will grow and be harvested. Direct sow seeds into drills 1cm deep and 30cm apart. Once established, thin plants to 23cm apart. This method is ideal for borders and patio containers. Harvest leaves regularly to promote new growth. Parsley seeds may germinate for up to 28 days, especially in cold soils and unfavourable conditions.
