Speedy Seed Colourful Blooms features Giant Sunflowers that can grow over 2 metres tall, making a stunning addition to any garden. These sunflowers are perfect for attracting pollinators, helping to create a vibrant ecosystem in your outdoor space. Each package contains over 100 seeds, allowing for a beautiful display of flowers. For optimal growth, sow the seeds between March and May, and enjoy the spectacular blooms from July to October.

 

Instructions For Use

Sow Indoors: For best results sow seeds indoors from March, 1cm deep and 7cm apart or 1-2 seeds into 7.5cm pots of good quality compost. Water well, keep in a warm sunny position and cover with a plastic bag to create humidity and help germination. Seedlings can be transplanted where they are large enough to handle. 

Hardening off:  Ensure the risk of frost has passed before planting outside. To acclimatise, place the plants outdoors during the day and indoors at night. Repeat process for 7 days, after which the plants can remain outdoors. Space out plants by 40-60cm and choose a place in the garden, which is sheltered from strong winds. 

Sow outdoors: Once the risk of frost has passed, seeds can be sown direct where they are to flower. Sow seeds 1cm deep, 45cm apart onto finely raked soil or pots of good quality compost. Sunflowers prefer a sunny position and will grow in most soils. Support growth with canes and twine. Water well in periods of drought and warm temperatures.
