Speedy Seed Sow Direct Outdoors- Spring Onion

The Speedy Seed Sow Direct Outdoors in Spring Onion (White Lisbon) allows you to enjoy a continuous harvest with weekly sowing. Each packet contains up to 1400 seeds, ensuring plenty for your garden. Ideal for planting from March to September, these onions can be harvested from April through October. This variety is known for its crisp texture and mild flavour, making it perfect for salads, garnishes, and various dishes. Enjoy fresh spring onions throughout the growing season!

Instructions For Use

Sow outdoors: After the risk of frost has passed, seeds can be sown directly in their growing location. Prepare the area by cleaning away weeds and stones and apply natural manure or fertiliser to improve drainage a few weeks before planting. Thoroughly rake the area to break up any clumps and ensure it is well-watered. Protect seedlings during cold weather over winter using cloches, for early harvests the following year.

Easy growing: Sow seeds directly into damp soil, 2cm deep, in rows spaced 10cm apart. Sowing in rows or drills will make harvesting and weeding easier. Once the seedlings appear, thin up to 5cm apart and water well; avoid letting the soil dry out, as this can effect bulb development..

Can be harvested 8 weeks after sowing. Before lifting, water the area well to loosen the surrounding soil. Spring onions should be consumed shortly after harvesting as fresh produce.

Warning

Avoid growing alongside peas or beans as alliums damage the root growth.
