Indoor Sowing

Sow seeds indoors from spring in trays, pots or ideally a propagator. Sow seeds into warm moist soil, compost or coir/ Seeds should be sown evenly spaced out, with enough space for them to grow into strong seedlings. 

Locate in a warm place at a is of 18-21. Water and check daily to ensure the compost is moist but not waterlogged.

If you do not have a propagator, place a plastic bag over the container to create humidity until seedlings appear. When seedlings appear, relocate to a warm windowsill from May when all risk of frost has passed.

Outdoor Sowing

Alternatively sow direct outdoors as suggested for each variety. Sow directly outdoors once the chance of frost has past. Sow evenly into warm moist soil and cover with a thin layer of compost. Plants can be thinned out when large enough to handle. 

Harvesting times will depend on sowings dates and conditions. Water well during hot summer months, especially if grown in containers or a greenhouse environment.

Gerrmination can take 7 - 21 days (some varieties may take longer). Speed growth depends on growing conditions. All seed counts and weights are approximate. Store seeds in a cool, dry place. Use within season of purchase for best results.
